Master's Thesis Summary
A machine learning system for abalone detection and counting on conveyor belts using YOLOv3 with Deep SORT. The system addresses video challenges such as overlap and occlusion, improving accuracy over traditional OpenCV-based methods. It also integrates Grad-CAM with convolutional networks such as ResNet50 for classifying normal and abnormal images, improving interpretability and decision transparency.
